WHAT SORT OF MUSIC WILL YOU PLAY?
 

All of our string ensembles have a huge range of repertoire ranging in genre from classical through to pop. 

 

Some of our other instrumental packages don’t cover classical music so it’s best to let us know if you’re wanting some classical music.

 

Our DJs can obviously cover a large range of music.

CAN YOU PLAY “BRIDGERTON” STYLE MUSIC?
 

Sure can! This is one of our most popular requests.

 

Our string ensembles play classical versions of current pop and also cover a lot of the actual songs which appeared in the TV series.  

​
 

CAN YOU PLAY SPECIAL REQUESTS?

 

Yes! Of course. 

 

We love adding new music to our repertoire.

 

For wedding ceremonies and funerals we’ll happily include up to 3 special requests at no extra cost. Additional song requests can also be purchased.

​​

For events, some of our acts and packages can also accommodate special requests but this depends a bit on context and the act booked. Some special requests may incur additional charges.

​​

Our DJs will obviously be happy to accommodate multiple special requests.

​​

CAN YOU DO CUSTOM SONG LISTS?

​

This is not something automatically included in our services but you’re welcome to give us an indication of your preferences from our repertoire list and a “please do not play” list. 

​

We’ll prompt you for this when we send you a questionnaire 8 weeks prior to your event.

WHEN DO I NEED TO LET YOU KNOW MY SPECIAL REQUESTS?

​

We’ll send you a questionnaire 8 weeks prior to your event prompting you to confirm your special music requests 6 weeks prior to your event.

​

At this point you’ll also have the option to purchase additional special requests (and other add-ons) which can be added to your balance invoice.

​

​

WHAT ARE THE ADD-ON OPTIONS?

​

Backing tracks, electric instruments and additional special requests.

​

DO I NEED TO PAY A DEPOSIT?

​

Yes.

​

A minimum deposit of $450 + gst is required to confirm your booking and secure your date. 

​

Some types of bookings (eg large scale events, events requiring lots of customisation and some solo artist bookings) may require larger deposits of up to 50%.

​

Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable. 

 

 

DO THE MUSICIANS TAKE BREAKS?

​

Yes. 

​

For most ensembles this looks like a 10-15 min break each hour after the first full hour. 

​

This doesn’t include short breaks during, for example, the vows during a wedding ceremony or short speech at an event.

 

We require the sort of break where we can walk away from the performance space, stretch, use the bathroom, have a glass of water and mentally switch off.

​

That said, we’re happy to work with you to make these breaks line up with speeches or formalities in order to minimise our down time.

​

 

DO I NEED TO FEED THE MUSICIANS?

​

For engagements of more than 2 hours, light refreshments are politely requested.

​

For engagements of more than 3 hours or which require the artists to be onsite for

more than 3 hours, meals for each artist are required.

​

While we love what we do, performing can actually be quite physically and mentally taxing so having enough food and drink to keep our energy levels up is very much appreciated.

 

It also gets you a great result. 

​

There’s no-one happier than a well fed musician!

 

 

WHAT ELSE DO I NEED TO SUPPLY?

​

For string ensembles the basic requirements are:

 

- Armless chairs for each artist.

​

- A secure area for the artists’ personal items, instruments and equipment.

 

For some acts there will be an additional production rider.

​

If this is required, this will be discussed and agreed to before any deposit payment is taken.

 

 

DO YOU PERFORM OUTDOORS?

​

Yes. We do.

 

However we have a few guidelines around this in order to keep ourselves, our instruments and our equipment safe and get you the best results possible.

​

We require protection from the elements for ourselves, our instruments and our equipment.

​

We can’t be exposed to full sun, extreme heat/cold or rain/moisture.

​

Our instruments and equipment are valuable and fragile and the health and safety of our artists is a high priority for us. 

​

Artists are not obliged to perform outdoors in temperatures above 40 degrees C or below 15 degrees C. 

​

While we want your wedding or event to go exactly as you envisioned it as much as you do, we have to be practical in this regard.

 

At certain temperatures we just can’t do our job.

 

If our fingers are really cold we simply can’t physically perform and in very hot weather there’s a high risk of our ipads shutting down. 

​

In circumstances of extreme temperatures you have the option to relocate to an indoor location.

​

We highly recommend a rain back up plan for outdoor events as we’re unable to perform in any amount of rain.

 

 

DO WE CHARGE FOR TRAVEL?

​

Yes.

​

For engagements held more than 45 min outside of the CBD, an additional travel fee of $55 + gst per person per hour of travel applies.

 

 

WHAT WILL THE MUSICIANS WEAR?

​

This depends on context but we pride ourselves on looking stylish and our musicians are always beautifully presented.

​

We’ll happily dress to your events theme.

​

For string ensemble bookings please have a look at the inclusions above for our “CLASSIC” and “LUXE” packages below.

 

 

CAN I CHOOSE THE MUSICIANS?

​

This depends on what sort of booking you’re making.

​

For string ensemble bookings selection of specific individuals from within our team is not offered. 

​

If you have a preference for a particular artist to be part of the ensemble we’ll happily take this into consideration when hiring the musicians but their inclusion is not guaranteed.

​

For solo instrumental bookings, our “CLASSIC” solo package will be someone unspecified from within our team but our “LUXE” solo package allows you to consult with us to secure your preferred artist.

​

For “LUXE” solo string, solo piano, harp, vocalist and DJ bookings we’ll consult with you to secure your preferred artist before taking a deposit.

​

In the likely event that a chosen solo artist becomes unavoidably unavailable for a booked engagement we’ll liaise with you to find an appropriate replacement or refund your deposit.

​

 

WHAT IS A “CLASSIC” OR “LUXE” PACKAGE?

​

For our string ensemble bookings we have two different price points depending on your needs.

 

If your needs are relatively straight forward our “CLASSIC” packages keep it simple and classy. 

​

If you’re wanting a little more from your booking check out our “LUXE” packages. 

​

Package inclusions:

​

CLASSIC

​​

  • Musicians wear a combination of smart black and/or black and white.

​

  • Musicians are in place no less than 15 min before they’re due to start playing.

​

  • Up to 3 custom song requests (wedding/funeral clients only).

​

*While most song requests are possible to include at no extra cost, some requests may incur additional charges.  

​

Solo bookings will be someone unspecified from within our team.

 

The CLASSIC option does not allow for the selection of a specific artist from within the team.

 

LUXE

​

  • Musicians dress to your event's theme/colour scheme (glamorous style briefs can be accommodated).

​

  • Musicians use matching ipad stands.

​

  • Musicians are in place no less than 30 min before they’re due to start playing (this allows for a brief soundcheck if musicians are being amplified).

 

*Arrival times earlier than 30 min prior will be charged at $55 + gst per person per hour.

​

Up to 3 custom song requests (wedding/funeral clients only).

 

*While most song requests are possible to include at no extra cost, some requests may incur additional charges. 

​

*Backing track bookings include 1 custom song request at no extra cost.

 

Solo bookings allow for the selection of a specific artist within our team.

 

For string ensemble background music bookings, selection of specific individuals from within our team is not offered. 

​

If you have a preference for a particular artist to be part of the ensemble we’ll happily take this into consideration when hiring the musicians but their inclusion is not guaranteed.

​

We can’t accommodate requests to supply individual bios/profiles of artists for string ensemble bookings but can do so for LUXE package solo bookings.

​

In the likely event that a solo artist becomes unavoidably unavailable for a booked engagement we’ll liaise with you to find an appropriate replacement or refund your deposit.

 

WHICH INSTRUMENTS WILL BE INCLUDED IN A STRING DUO?

​

A duo line up will be one of the following combinations:

​

Violin + Violin or Viola.

​

Violin or Viola + Cello.

​

If you’re specifically wanting a cellist as part of the duo you can let us know when you send back your questionnaire (this will be sent to you 8 weeks prior to your event and due back  weeks prior to your event).


 

 

WHICH INSTRUMENTS ARE INCLUDED IN A STRING TRIO?

 

A string trio line up will be one of the following combinations:

 

Violin + Violin + Cello.

 

Violin + Viola + Cello.

 

 

WHEN IS MY BALANCE PAYMENT REQUIRED?

​

Payment in full is required 4 weeks prior to the event. 

We’ll send you an invoice 6 weeks prior to the event.

​

 

WHAT IF MY EVENT IS IN LESS THAN 6 WEEKS TIME OR I HAVE A VERY SHORT LEAD UP?

​

No stress! We can make this work.

​

You may just need to be prepared to be a little more flexible in terms of special music requests and specific dress code briefs but we’ll do our very best to accommodate your needs. 

​

We’ll work with you to find the best possible outcome if your turn around time is super tight.

 

 

DO WE ATTEND WEDDING REHEARSALS?

​

Our services don't include attending wedding rehearsals or in person meetings but can include phone calls for clients who have booked our services.

​

For weddings, our DJs all operate slightly differently but most will include a meeting of some sort in their services.

​
